“You play video games?” you ask.
“Yeah, why? Just because I’m a girl, doesn’t mean I can’t play! What are you, sexist or something?”
“Well, yeah! At least I would have expected something like My Little Pony, or a cooking simulator.”
She stares at you, shocked. But when you smile at her she realises that you were merely playing with her sarcasm. She smiles back at you, saying, “I like you.”
“So what where you playing at?”
“Resident Evil 6.”
“Really? I heard that it sucked.”
“Have you plaid it?” she asks.
“No.”
“Then why are you judging?”
She moves toward her bed, grabs the controller and hands it to you.
“Try it.”
You take it from her and sit down next to her.
“What about you?”
“Just play a few minutes and if you like it, we’ll play the two-player mode.”
You unpause the game and a zombie runs at you. With a slight moment of panic, you manage to find the right buttons to aim and shoot it just in time. You quickly get the hang of it as the controls are the same as Call of Duty, or that type of game.
“Ok, I think you’ll be a worthy partner,” Jade says after five minutes of seeing you play.
She takes the controller from you and gives you a second one. She quits the game and ***********s the two-player mode. You basically resume the game you started, but this time the screen is split into two, each of you controlling a different character. It does not take long for you to notice that Jade is an amazing player and with the two of you, the army of zombies coming at you seems to have no chance. But before you manage to finish the level, you hear Mrs MacCleary’s voice calling you for dinner. You get frustrated when Jade pauses the game and starts leaving the room. You follow her and sit down at the dinner table in front of her. You eat the entrée, as the adults speak about theirs job, and after attempting to mingle in the conversation, Jade and you give up and start your own.
“So, any other hobbies apart from video games?” she asks you.
“Well, I do like tabletop RPGs when my friends and I can get together at the same time. Apart from that, I don’t really have time to do anything with school things and all.”
“Huh? So you’re a nerd? You don’t look the part. I’d expect an obese guy with glasses and very little social skills.”
“Who’s generalising now? That’s because I try to keep a healthy amount of sport in my life. And I do have friends, so…”
“Any girlfriend?”
“Not exactly,” you say.
“Gay?”
“What, no! What about you?”
“What about me what? If I’m gay?” she says.
“No, everything you asked me. Hobbies and stuff.”
“Well, I like movies, writing stories and video games. No. And sometimes.”
Her eyes are fixed on you as you smile at her.

“So, what sort of movie do you like?” you ask.
“All sorts. Mostly Superhero movies, but I would get hyped about anything interesting. I loved the biopic they made on Tolkien, and the movie that happens during the Segregation about that black pianist who wants to make concerts in the South. What is it called again?”
“The Green Book?” you say.
“That’s it! Fucking brilliant!”
You continue talking about movies for a while, until Mrs MacCleary allows you to go back upstairs.
The game you left earlier is still paused, and Jade sits down on the bed and grabs her controller.
“Shall we end those zombies?”
“Absolutely!”
You sit next to her and grab your controller before she unpauses the game and it is time for another virtual blood bath. Once again, you make a pretty good team but the difficulty gets kicked up a notch. You get overwhelmed with zombies, but you’ve got each other’s back. Whenever a walking dead manages to grab one of you, the other shoots it before they have time to take a bite. And after half an hour, you finish the level.
“Yes!” you both scream with joy.
“Congratulations, newbie!” she says to you, putting her hand in the air, requesting a high five.
“Thanks, boss!” you reply.
You hit her hand but don’t break contact. Your fingers intertwine and you are now holding hands. Her eyes are fixed on yours and none of you say a word. She leans in a bit and kiss you on the lips timidly. You kiss her back, pressing your lips against hers even more. The kiss starts been more passionate when you hear a feminine voice calling your name. Your mother calls you to go home.
“It was really nice meeting you,” Jade says. “I hope we can see each other again.”
“Of course. Do you want my number?”
“Sure!”
You give it to her and she texts you so you can have hers as well. You kiss one last time, deeply and passionately, your arms around each other’s body, before you leave.
Thirty minutes later, you are at home, lying on your bed, completely exhausted after that busy day.

You stretch out your leg until you find hers. When you touch her she startles a bit and removes her leg.
What do you do? Keep trying? Go to 22. Or pretend nothing happened and continue the conversation? Go to 20.

Once again, you try to find you leg and when you do, this time she doesn’t move. You make stroking motions with your leg against hers, staring at her to figure out her reaction. She finally smiles at you and you relax. After a few seconds you feel her other leg coming into contact with yours.
You resume your conversation awkwardly, as your legs caress each other, and then you hear Mrs MacCleary’s voice.
“If you guys want to go back up, you can.”
Jade does not wait another second, stands up and goes back up the stairs. You follow her and find her standing in her room. She does not say a word, but stares at you, sparkles in her eyes. You take a step closer to her, but then she says, “Close the door.”
You obey and turn back to her. You take another step, she takes one as well and you are now just a few inches away from each other. You take her hand softly and she takes the last step which separated you two, the tip of her boobs coming into contact with your chest. You lean forward and your lips softly touch each other in a timid kiss. You kiss her again, but this time with more confidence and she follows your lead, pressing her lips harder against yours as her free hand lands onto your arm. The kiss gets deeper and you caress her lips softly with your tongue, thus making her open her mouth slightly to let it in. Your tongues stroke against each other and you feel one of her arms wrapping around you neck and the other one stroking your cheek. Your hand moves onto her back and you press her a bit more against you. Then you move your hand under her tank top and stoke her bare back with your fingertips.
Jade suddenly release her embrace and breaks the kiss.
“Argh… I’m sorry…” she says. “I know where you want to take this and… I thought I could, but… No. We won’t go any further. I hope that’s ok.”

You do not answer her and lean in for another kiss. She lets you kiss her at first, but when you keeping moving your hand up her back, she tries to push you away.
“I said stop!”
You still ignore her and move your hand down underneath her shorts to grab her ass cheek and squeeze it.
This was when it happened. The sharpest pain you ever felt in your entire life between your legs. You are folded in two, letting go of her, ready to drop on the floor as you realise that she has struck you in the balls with her knee. Before you drop on the ground, she rotates her whole body with her elbow armed and hits you in the jaw. You fall on the floor, unconscious.
You come to about forty-five minutes later on a couch. You open your eyes and realise you have a massive headache. You are at home, in the living room, and you are not alone. Your father is also here.
“Nice to see you’re still alive, son,” he says. “How do you feel?”
He holds a hand out to help you stand up. You grab his hand and, as you were about to answer him, he punches you in the stomach, and another time in the face and you fall back onto the sofa.
“That is what happens when you don’t respect women, son!”
Then he walks away, muttering something you do not fully understand. You just lay there, coughing, waiting for the pain to pass. After some time, you find the strength to get up and stumble your way to your bedroom. You lie down on your bed and fall asleep (or pass out again, it depends how you want to look at it).

You lean in for another kiss, and then step away from her, but she grabs your wrist so you don’t get too far.
“Would you lie down next to me?” she asks timidly
“Of course.”
She takes a few steps back, still holding your wrist to make you follow her. She climbs onto the bed and wait for you to be lying on it to nestle against you, putting her head on your chest. You stay like this a long time, sometimes kissing and hugging tighter, until you hear a feminine voice calling your name. Your mother calls you to go home.

If we were doing it properly, I would have included dice rolls to determine the success or failure of your character’s actions, but I thought this was not the place for such complication.
